is a member of the Boy Scouts of America
in
the Greater Western Reserve Council which serves Lake, Geauga,
Ashtabula,
Portage, Trumbull, and Mahoning counties in northeastern
Ohio.
First
chartered in 1970, Troop 306 is sponsored by Saint John Vianney
Church in Mentor, Ohio. The church also supports Cub Scouts
through sponsorship of Pack 306.
Troop
meetings are typically on Thursday evenings from 7:30 PM until 9:00
PM. Meetings are normally held in the Community Room of the
Administration Building at Saint John Vianney and periodically at
Bellflower Elementary School. Prospective members as well as
their parents are always invited to attend troop meetings.

Troop
306 strives to provide a quality program focused on Scouting values
and principles, youth leadership development, and advancement and
learning opportunities through regular troop meetings and an
array of interesting events and outdoor activities including a
strong camping schedule. The camping schedule generally
includes one weekend campout during most months, one long distance
camping trip each year such as to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base,
Niagara Falls, Laurel Caverns, or other similarly, interesting
location, and a formal Christmas campout each December. In
addition, the troop attends a week long summer camp each year at a
Scout camp recognized for providing an excellent program of various
Scouting related activities for pleasure, learning, and
advancement. Most of all, Troop 306 endeavors to maintain an
overall environment and attitude of safety, fun, friendship, and
fellowship for a spirit of teamwork and place of growth,
opportunity, and security for all member Scouts and adult
leaders.
